Outline: Intended for everyone who wants to boost both their skill and enjoyment to get more out of their camera. This
course will recap the basics of photography, then take them underwater.
Covering useful jargon and translating it into step by step 'how to'
guides. Bring your camera and have some of its mysteries
decoded. Try a variety of different cameras and housings.
Hopefully by
the end you'll know how to get the best out of your own set up and we
can expect shots of all the unusual animals you see to start flooding
in by e-mail.
The practical, diving part of the course will
(weather permitting) allow a variety of subjects; wrecks and wreckage,
macro and larger animals and some lumbering divers.
The theory portion of the course is flexible
addressing attendees kit and concerns, it may go into more detail
if the diving is affected or reduced by weather or
visibility.
What you will need:
- Underwater camera, a variety will be on hand for comparison too
- Mask and snorkel - for quick snaps and observation
- Wetsuit
or drysuit - if you feel the cold, so you can concentrate on the camera
not the temperature (28 degrees C)
- Questions - problems you have had
- Examples of your pictures - good and bad please
- Towel and swimming stuff
- Dive gear - including weight. There will only be 2 in the pool at a time so shared kit may be used
Costs: NB Costs may depend on numbers attending, especially where facilities must be hired
Pool based (1 day) - max 6 divers - £45
- Dutch workshop (4 days) - max 10 divers - £85 (Not including the trip of course)
- Norfolk (1 day) - max 12 divers - £45

refreshments (not meals)

Food:
Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are included for

Meals are not included, a packed lunch for both
days will allow the most flexibility for dive planning.
If you would like to join the review meal on the
Saturday night please inform the organiser - a deposit will be
required

Sheringham Youth Hostel offers rooms at £20
per person per night
Hotel - The Maltings Weybourne will be the venue
for the group meal and has rooms
There are numerous B&Bs and campsites in the
area
Diving:
The diving is optional
The practical portion of the course is shore diving
on the two local wrecks at Cley and Weybourne
The dives are shallow (5-10m) and close to shore
but require a walk (2-300m) and surface swim (50-100m)
Local airfills are not always available - bring 2 or more
cylinders if possible
Many people could make both dives on one 12 litre
cylinder
Normal Seasearch qualification requirements apply -
